About Fred

I am a freelance music producer from Brighton, recently graduating music production at the British Institute of Modern Music Brighton. I have worked on numerous projects; recording, producing, mixing and mastering tracks for some fantastic artists in a wide range of genres.

My love of music stems from my childhood, with a strong influence from artists such as the Beatles, Oasis, Bon Iver, and Foo Fighters. As a producer who takes great pleasure in making his own music - as well as working with other artists - Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl are of particular inspiration to me because of their undeniable skill at both performing and producing.

I love the freedom of production, and how it gives you the ability to manipulate sounds in so many different ways. I also love experimenting with microphone types and placements, and seeing the tones and sounds that they can create. I’m an absolute analogue geek – my favourite pastime is collecting and experimenting with old school reel to reel tape recorders, portable recording devices, and messing around with analogue mixing desks. As analogue recording is more limiting, you really have to think outside the box and try new things, which has led to some really cool (and some really not so cool) songs and sounds.

In a nutshell, I love to throw myself into a musical project, working tirelessly to craft a sound that reflects my diverse skillset, and the desires of the artist. So if you have a musical project that you’d like to work on and are looking for someone enthusiastic and hard-working to produce it, please get in contact with me.
